I think I know the answer to my question, but want to verify that I am correct.
Is the alignment bar the same for all of the MerCruiser outdrives?

Most yes, all no.

TR and TRS drives use a different system. All Alpha style (MC1, R, MR, Alpha One, Alpha One gen II) and Bravo drives use the same. Just be aware that with the advent of the Alpha One Gen II, Merc changed the coupler and older alignment bars needed to be machined a little to work with newer couplers. (Machining instruction came out with SB 92-9)
