5.7L V8 Mercruiser, is it best to have the exhaust risers/elbows installed or not installed when performing the initial alignment on a fresh engine? Or no difference.

It may make a difference because of the weight, but even if you do the alignment with the manifolds off, it will be a lot closer for the final adjustment before installing the drive.
You did see the alignment information up in the Adults Only sticky didn't you?
