If you are reffering to marine algae, soak prop in a can to soften it, with a 3M green pad apply and detergent brand you like best..

How did get the prop covered and not the lower unit?

Anyway, remove the prop and soak it in water a day or two to soften up the slime. Clean it while still wet. Soap and warm water using one of those kitchen scrubber pads should work.

As suggested, a good pressure washer should work quickly if you don't feel like scrubbing.

a good kitchen/bathroom cleanser such as kaboom or CLR will work wonders as well. however you will need to soak the prop to get the crud to soften.

You take the prop off if ya want. Then clean it inside and out. The best way to stop alge from building up is to spin it at high speed on the open water every day!
