Just go to Lowes or Home Depot and get denatured alcohol. I'm not sure about using Heet unless it is 100% alochol. The stuff from the Lowes or Home Depot is the only stuff I have used, Not that expensive either. Quarts or gallons available.............SS

Denatured Alcohol it what you need. It's cheap and it a great cleaner for around the house/shop.

Most companies put it between 98.9 or 99% Then Methanol is added to make it undrinkable.

Don't know how your stove is, but mine sometimes will overflow during the intitial lighting. Alcohol fire is hard to see. I always keep a large glass of water to splash on the alcohol just in case. Water will dilute the alcohol and keep it from burning.

Re: Alcohol Stove Fuel

The secret to lighting an alcohol stove is the pre heat!!!
pump it up good, lock pump down, turn on for 2-3 second, shut off, light and let it burn off the fuel.
This pre heats the cup and will allow for better vapourization, just like the really old coleman stoves.
(thinking of switching and going propane myself)
