Alarm Sounding and no power

Hi all,
I have a 1998 Yamaha 75 hp 2 stroke. It idles fine but when throttled up has no power and a continues alarm sounds from under the console. New plugs new oil in lower unit. Any help would be much appriciated my 12 year old son is dying togo fishing.
