HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHelp!

Heres what I have:

1996 Charger 19.5 ft bassboat
1995 ProMax 225 hp motor
trophy plus 24 or 25, cant remember, prop

Brought the boat with bad motor (200 Suzi with a bad cyl) to the shop to have them put the freshly rebuilt, crated 225 on. They spent a good amount of time rigging the boat, but when they take it down to the lake for testing, they continually get a buzzer when they get it up to high RPMs. It keeps buzzing until they drop down to idle.

My first thought was, ok, the prop is wrong and its over revving, right? The tech says no...thats not it. Low oil levels? No, thats a beep beep beep.

Can ANY of you tell us what might be causing the motor sensor/alarm to buzz on and stay on, once the RPMs get up there. After that, until it idles back down, the alarm keeps buzzing.

They cant figure it out, I have no clue and I need your help and input what the heck is causing it.

They lowered it ALL the way on the jackplate and it still does it, changing its position on the plate makes no difference. Would a bad impellor cause it to over heat? Would a prop with the wrong pitch or cup do it? If it didnt have those air holes on the inside of the blade, could it cause this???

They are starting to wonder if they need to take the jackplate off to make it sit right and get the right amount of water thru the impellor. Have any of you had alot of experience rigging bassboats and run into this? (they dont rig bassboats up here in Minnesota...walleye yes, but not rigs like this, usually)

Could it be a bad wire connection or short that feeds the alarm at high RPMs?

suggestions? thoughts? Ideas for them to check before I run up a $2500 bill here and not even get the boat running right...

email me at: ruralmania@yahoo.com if you have ANY ideas. I may not get the msg here right away if you leave it here but will check back hoping one of you has the answer.
