Alarm on 1987 Johnson 50HP outboard

An intermittant alarm sounds when engine is engaged, alarm speeds up as boat speeds up, slows down when boat slows down. Oil level is OK and water coming from motor is cool. Anyone know what causes this? :confused: <br />1987 Johnson 50HP Outboard Model J50TLCUD
