I swapped out a 1980 75 jonny for a 1992 70 jonny.I used the same controls cuz everything hooked up the same.I didnt install the oil injection opting to mix manually. Now however I have some kind of alarm going off in the remote control box. This never happend before with the old 1980 motor. The service manual for the 1980 motor says that there is an engine temp. alarm in the control box.Is that what I'm hearing? The engine is pumping good water and I ran upriver 4 or 5 miles and back with no problems. Is there any damage to be done by not using the oil injection? Help!!! thanks j.

j.....did you disconnect the VRO wire harness'? There is one from the VRO pump and one from the oil reservoir which looks like a black lamp cord. What is the tone you are hearing? Steady, intermittent.....?

There is a two prong plug on side of the motor next to the heat exchanger that says "do not hook up to battery, internal tank circuitry damage will occur" the plug matches up to the oil tank plug which is sitting on the floor in my garage.
