I had a rebuilt installed. They told me it was a '91 evinrude 150. Can't find any s/n plate. While running at a steady 4000-4500 rpm an alarm goes off. I've been watching the temp gauge while running and it starts to rise from about 100/110 (normal operating temp) to 140 and the alarm goes off. A buddy told me to check the temp of water out from the pisser and see if it was hot. I did and temp was actually cool. Any thoughts on this issue?

Water coming out of the pisser on my 87 150 Johnny is always cool since it doesn't go thru the engine but it sounds like you have a sensor going south on you; unhook one at the time and see which one it is. Good luck

At the top of each head; there is a brown wire coming out of them with a knife connecter under a rubber cover. Unhook them one at a time and run the engine until the horn blows. If the horn blows with both of them after that there is a fuel supply warning sensor that may be causing the horn to blow; it's telling you that not enough fuel is going to the engine. Doubt it is that since your engine is running good.
