Motor is a 1975 Johnson 50 hp. Rebuilt the carbs last fall, and lost the screws for the air silencer cover. Is the cover necessary?

If so, are the screws a type which I could pick up at a hardware store? Or should I just reorder from online outlet.

Thanks

p.s. Part # of screws is 314576

Yes, you need the cover.

There is nothing special about the screws except that they are probably stainless steel.

You're right. Screws can't be that expensive.
So, just what does the cover do, anyway?
