My 1979 Johnson 115hp v4 is running rough and I'm working on it. As I'm checking for air coming in from the fuel lines, I notice that when I pick up my gas line, fuel runs out of the inline filter back into the fuel tank. It does this even with the gas line pinched off between the inline filter and the motor. Is this normal? or does it mean I have an air leak somewhere between the inline filter and the tank or pick up tube.
