I have a horn that was originally powered by those 1 lb. cans of freon. Those are no longer available and even if they were, they leaked a lot when mounted on this horn. Does anyone know how much pressure those little cans held. If I knew that, I could match it with compressed air.

Re: air horn

I'm thinking around 30 psi but I'm not sure. I believe thats the pressure that freon turns from a gas to liquid.

Re: air horn

If you plan on hooking it up to an air compressor just hook it up and turn up the regulator slowly until it works the way it's supposed to.

Re: air horn

Freon ( R12) has a "static" pressure of about 1 psi for each degree F.

That is the pressure you would find in an A/C system with the compressor shut off and high/low side pressures equalized.

JD

Re: air horn

So with everything equalized at 80°, does that mean the pressure inside the system is 80 psi?
