It wasn't just "Good Friday" it was "Great Friday" :D. Finally hit 63 degrees here. Took it out for a spin on the Mohawk River to check the new steering and the new motor position (dropped one hole down from the two I went up last year).

Hit the water and found I hooked up the new steering unit backwards

Looks good so far on the O/B position. I actually gained 1-2 mph top end.

I was alone so I couldn't take a movie of the spray coming off the cav. plate. It was not a lot in my opinion, but next time I'm out I'll have someone else drive and take a movie of the spray to get some members opinions. Had very little spray when it was a hole higher, but now it's within 1 inch above the boat's bottom which is right on Merc's spec.

Oh ya, as mentioned in another thread, I swapped out the new Teleflex No Feedback Steering unit for the OEM one that came with the boat the next day cause I couldn't get my radio back all the way in with the new position of the steering cable. Better steering or better tunes . . . I made the tough decision to go back to the OEM steering. I wasn't crazy anyway about how firm the NFB unit made turning the wheel (as others have noted).

Let me know if the pic below brings back any memorys after a long winter? Anyone remember looking back and hearing and seeing what's in this pic: (that pink thing in the shot on the left of the frame is the ziplock plastic bag that I had my camera in, didn't realize I still had it in my hand).

Next time if I shoot with my body blocking the wind instead of holding the camera in the air . . . all you will hear is the sweet sound of the O/B.

Once you click on the pic below . . click on the blue "full screen" tab in the bottom right of the movie and click on the top right square on your screen to get the full view and full effect. You will think you are standing and looking off the back of your boat :D (cheer up, you too will be back on the water anyday now).
