Where can I find a weatherproof box to mount a stereo in my boat? Is there such a thing? I've searched this forum and several places on the web, and I haven't found anything. My boat is a 1968 Bonito; anyone have/heard of this model? It was bought new from a dealer somewhere in Florida.

Look on Ebay, I know there's a guy in Kansas City who usually has at least one on there at a time - look under boating

if the stereo is kinda hidden lets say under the dash, why couldnt a person just put a ziploc bag over the back of it incase any water somehow did end up splashing on it.

Could the unit overheat you think, i mean does the waterproof box that you buy come with some sort of venting?

Koltar

You can get those boxes cheap from WestMarine or similar stores.

Go with some unfinished speaker boxes and completly coat them wiht spray in bed liner and you have a waterproof speaker box. It works great and looks good.
