I have a 1988 Volvo Penta (AQ171C) with duel solex carbs. Was wondering if an aftermarket flame arrestor (Like K&N) really makes that much difference in performance. The engine seems to run fine as is, but the stock unit looks somewhat restrictive. Generally, I like leaving things stock, but if it really helped the engine breathe better, I would consider it. Any thoughts? Thanks to all.....Dave.
