Will be installing Infinity 6.5" reference speakers in my 4winns 190 bow rider.
Not sure of the ideal spot for installing these but options are somewhat limited.
We will be mostly listening while at anchor for swimming/sunning/beer drinking.
What is the best way to cut and secure upholstery if the speakers have be mounted through the upholstery?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, a new set of speakers would be ideal for beer drinking. I assume that you may be thinking of mounting the speakers through some of the side panels in the boat that are padded and vinyl covered???

you will want to make sure of the clearance and wiring access behind the panels, etc. basically you will make a series of diagonal cuts where the hole should be, like you would cut a round pizza. Make the cut diameter and inch or two less than the size of the speaker. Then you can cut off the excess in the center. The speaker fasteners should hold the vinyl secure around the perimeter.

Make SURE before you cut you have clearance behind the surface you are going to mount them on and you can get wire to them. you will have a pattern with the new speakers. Tape around it well and use a sharp razor knife to cut. Then if it is a large area and loose lift it a little and spray 3m adhesive under it and push it down to hold it in place. Then use it as the pattern for your jigsaw. Make sure to start a small hole for the screws so your dull bit doesn't grab anything.
