Hi. I am buying our first pontoon and due to close docks we need to buy something 7 or 7.6 ft wide. I seem to have two choices, the Weeres cadet cruise 180-7 and the Qwest entry level 18ft by 7.6 (I believe it is called the Edge model). I will be in a fresh water lake and will likely put a 40hp honda on it so my little kids can tube behind it. Any advice on which one we should go with and there is an option to go with a used motor...2006 Honda. Would love input.
Thanks

Put the biggest engine allowable on it. You will get tired of going 10mph full throttle. I have a 75hp on my 18' and the best I can do is 26mph.

Good Luck

I would go as wide as possible. if it is 7'6" then that is what I would get. I have a 8'6" pontoon and it is more stable than the 8' model I had before. You will never regret as much HP as you can get also.
