I have a new magic tilt ET 14 for my 14' Landau jon boat. Trailer has 3 center rollers and two fixed bunks - also has tilt tongue. I will be launching by myself for the most part. The boat is currently hard to roll back to effect tilt. Should I put the bulk of the w eight on the 3 rollers and use the bunks to stabilize? I would appreciate any help on a system to properly adjust the rollers and bunks to permit ease of launch.

Re: adjustment of new trailer

Howdy, Ferd. Some boats should be supported only on the keel and stabilized by the bunks, but others need maximum area of support. I would expect a Jon to be the latter, needing maximum area of support.

There are low friction strips that you can put on your bunks to make it easier to slide the boat, and you can also buy spray-on products to reduce friction.

Check with the manufacturer of your boat about setting up the trailer.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)
