I have a 1989 boat with factory analog gauges and wondered if they are adjustable. The rpm gauage is off about 200 rpm too low as measured against my digital timing light. The trim gaige is off about 1/4(show 3/4 when is up all of the way and drops below all the way down when down). Thanks.

Re: adjusting gauges omc 2.3 1989

I had a boat with a 1988 OMC. As for the tach I have no idea. But the trim gauge is easily adjusted. The trim sending unit is on the starboard side of the outdrive behind the transom. There's two screws holding it on, one of them goes through a slotted hole. loosen the screws a little, turn on the key, and move the sender until the gauge reads what it should. I believe that the down position is more important than the up position.
