Adjusting BUNK Trailer To Suite Boat . Quicksilver 620 .

Hi ,

I'm new to this site and found some excellent pieces of info , but I'm still a little confused concerning my trailer .

I recently purchased a Quicksilver 620 Pilot House and had to buy a second hand BUNK trailer sepearately and was wondering exactly where the two bunks should be positioned beneath the boat .

Please see attached photos , do the bunks need to be moved INWARDS into the flat red marked area or where exactly should I position them to best support the boat ?

I would be extremely grateful for any help re. the above .

I am gonna say - outboard of the chine... gives more bearing surface and makes it easier for the boat to settle when retrieving. IMO, if it is adjusted to the underside of the chines then it may be very difficult for the boat to settle evenly on the bunks... just my $.02

many thanks for that , upon another look at the boat I'd say you're right , I didn't think of the difficulty when recovering the boat ..

on another note I pretty much destoyed the top of the plastic outboard oil cap when removing to top up :facepalm: , as it was well and truely jammed in there .. I've tried online but can't seem to locate one ...

If anyone knows where I can find one , I'd really really appreciate it .. It's a 2000 MARINER 50hp 2 stroke outboard .

You talkin' 'bout the remote oil filler cap mounted to the boat's topside?

I think those are Taylor Made products. Sometimes, for things like that, you have to search by manufacturer of the accessory.

The Cap on top of the outboard is the one I need , please see photos ..

The top of the bunk is usually cut at an angle to fit the hull. The closer your bunks are together, the better luck you'll have getting the boat centered when loading.
