Boat won't fit into storage space with bimini stowed normally (too tall). Just discovered some adjustable bimini supports that might let me lower the top enough to fit it into the space without having lay it all the way down to rest it on the back of the boat or take it completely off. Anybody used these? Thanks

Re: Adjustable bimini poles

I've been putting off buying a new bimini top because of the storage compartment problem. I didnt want to have it lay on the back of the stern either. If you have any info or get any info on an adjustable pole, please post it. Thanks!

I looked at the adjustable models and decided that I would use quick release pins on the rear support poles. This has worked very well for me. The adjustable ones that I looked at just did not look that strong. I hope this helps.

I made some short support poles from 3/4" angle aluminum because of the angle of my support poles. With the long poles, they work fine. Here's a couple of pictures...<br />

While mine does lay flat when down, the supports fit into a slider so that it slides all the way back to the transom and is completely out of the way - 23'CC.

There are some adjustable poles for under $60/pair in the West Marine catalog. I think I'll give them a try...I'll post how well it works.
