Any easy-ish way to add a spedo to my boat? Have an 18' with an outboard and want to know speeds. Where do I look and what am I looking at price wise for the kit?
The easiest and fastest way is to go is to go to the iboats Mega Mall at the top of the page, order a hand held GPS unit for $100, and put it in your pocket when you go boating. This is also the most accurate. Boat speedos can be way off in the accuracy department.
I am also not a fan of boat speedo's. They are frequently very innacurate and are troublesome.<br /><br />The GPS advice is good. It has other uses too. Plus, it's not much more money and you don't have to drill holes in your boat.<br /><br />Neither of my last two boats have had a speedo. I have every other guage, just no speedo.
