adding side console to 14' seafarer starcraft

ok well if you saw my old thread, i decided to not buy that boat after finding out the boat needed a new floor and transom wood. good news is i had a backup. but it dosent have a console setup.
now im not 100% sure its the correct boat, but its information matches everything the guy gave me. beam, length, hp rating
now again, it could have a side console but i dont have a picture of the inside and i think its the bench seating, and i could be wrong but i think i would see the console.

HI Im not being nosey or picky .but I have ,with Boats, spent a lot of money foolishly. Ask you self. Do you want a 14 ft row boat with a tiller controlled Motor?? It would be very pricy to convert the motor and mabey not even be able to. The controll won't just bolt on and hook up the steering. I would hope the other guys will have some good advise.not our decision but just trying to help you.

Maybe I?m confused but I looks like that size of boat never came with a side console. The correct motor for that boat would have a tiller handle for steering and power. Are you thinking of putting on a side console and then finding a motor with controls and install that too? If so it might make for a good project if you have the time and budget and ability. If not search for a boat that is not so much of a project. Save up more money and you will spend less in the long run.

NY, if you get the boat put it in the water before you do anything. You will want to consider where to put a console. Middle, or on the side, front, mid way or towards stern. You will need to put your equipment in the boat and see how the weight distribution will be with just one person, and then maybe two people. Think about it planing out or if it were to lean to one side. You can install a console, a bit of work and money though. Gotta plan ahead.

Hey I have that exact boat

Just my opinion...... it's not wide enough and stick steering might be better.

BTW that is a 1963 powered by a 1967 18 hp and I have skied behind it!!

Bob, I like your boat! It hasn't changed much in 40 years has it? I have a 2003 SF14.

It has the bench seating layout, which I prefer, but I don't move around the boat much or fish. Depends on what you want to use it for. I'm not sure if the different layouts changed the model name or just the suffix. I agree, not sure I would want a side console in it.

These were taken when it was brand new, it looks more lived in & loved now. This is a real stable and dry riding boat.

I think im going to look at it sunday night. only problem is it has a 9.9 but he wants 1,000. 700 for the boat and trailer. i figure ill just sell the 9.9 and buy a 20hp used.

I agree with the stick-steer suggestion. It allows you to pilot the boat farther forward, but doesn't take up the room that a console does.

so I've seen a small boat like that, that had a wheel that was almost Flat with the seats and was mounted off the side
