I have a boat that weighs 2000# and would like to add some sort of braking system to it for safety reasons. It is a single axle with 14" rims. Any suggestions as to where I might get a kit and how hard is it to install? Also my trailer is a TI brand. Thanks! :D

Got a surge brake kit from champion a couple months ago. It was a good deal and easy to install if you follow the directions .

I had the same problem. I looked at the local tractor supply company at newe axles with breaks and checked with champion. It was $50 higher to trade trailers with a boat retailer than put the breaks on and I got a newer tandem axle trailer to boot. This time of year it appears that people are willing to sell their trailer for a little since it is often in the way and the boat is on the water. Try getting a trailer in the fall or winter when all the boats are out of the water and sitting in someone's yard.
