Looks like I have to switch to an engine mounted raw water pump.I know you use a block-off plate at the transom but,do you remove the impeller from the outdrive or the whole water pump housing ?What about the hose from the bellhousing to transom assembly?

Should I use a thru-hull with a built-in strainer that goes on the under side or a straight open-hole thru-hull with an inboard strainer or both?I notice most some of the high quality seacocks seal against the inside of the hull.mine is not a good sealing surface (rough, not flat). Are there usually gaskets for this ,or do I sand flat and use 4200?have'nt been to the store to look, just looked online. Are there usually gaskets on the underside of the thru-hull(outside of boat)? OK Don,I checked that out but, what about a seacock, shouldn't I have one in there in case of...?Also wanted to make sure those thru-hulls with the slots in the pics were satisfactory for closed cooling or if I need extra filtration for that?
