Well, the cockpit deck needs to be above the water line, or you will just sink. Also the deck must be sealed from the bilge, or you will alos sink, just slower.

I think that depends on what you are doing.

the comment on the deck higher than the water line pertains to overboard drains.

you can also install floor drains that drain into the bilge, to be pumped out by the bilge pump, but don't do that if you already have scuppers to drain the deck.

No, you won't sink if your deck is not sealed from the bilge; that doesn't make any sense.

If you floor drain to the bilge, you don't want that water falling on top of foam, so depending on how it's located, you may want to add a drain pipe to direct the water.

Wow, are you sure there are no drains??? Seems hard to believe, particularly with a new boat. You can certainly add some, but it will be about an 8 on a 10 scale (maybe a 7) as you will want to plumb them to the outside, and do all the associated measuring for proper drainange and height above the waterline, etc. Definitely an over-the-winter project.

His boat has them . No need to modify. Check by your transom locker.
They will likely drain into your bilge, and let the bilge pump do the work when needed.

From the Bayliner manual.

if there are no overboard drains then it should drain to the bilge for the pump to remove. if the floor is sealed so well that there's no drainage to the bilge then it wouldn't seem too complicated to add one.

how much water is accumulating?

Maybe I will just leave this one alone for now. Watter collects in one spot and it drives my crazy. My stingray had drains all over the deck but then again that was a water sports boat and this is a cruiser boat....

I just don't like the idea of watter sitting if it gets in there some how.
