since my boat is an older skeeter it only has a bilge that pumps water in and i want to add a livewell aerator to the existing system. I didnt know if a proair system that i see in bass pro will be good enough to keep fish alive or do i need to go to a drop in system like the Aqua Innovations ''The Magnum''™ Aerator, or something else. Thanks!

I have fished tournaments in the past, and have lost fish with just an airator. Just rig you present system with an overflow that is high enough so you can just pump fresh water. It keeps the water at lake temp and you wont lose fish. If you want an airator also, you can use the one from Bass Pro, or just make your own from an inexpensive small bilge pump and pvc.

Higher water temperatures is likly more important than air. Put a timer on your fill pump so you can adjust the off time. Like on for one minute and off for minutes. Make sure your over flow is set up right and that is the best way to keep fish alive.

Best Aerator I have seen use a fill pump to cirulate water but on the suction line to the pump it has a T with a stand pipe to a height above the water level. On top of the stand pipe it has a cap with a hole drilled in it. The hole alows the pump to suck in air and mix with water in the pump then the water is put back in the tank. This put in lots of air but still fishing when it is 100 degrees or more no fish except catfish will survive.

If you are going to use straight air then also use the fish pills.
