I'd like to add a trim indicator gauge to my 1990 Maxum 2400 SC with 7.4L Bravo One...

What parts am I looking for to make this happen, and can it just be added? I'm assuming there is a sending unit and obviously the gauge, but I can't seem to find any info on what parts I need to do the job.

Thanks,

Ayuh,... I imagine the Sender is already on the gimbel ring,+ the wiring is probably in place,...
If you had the Gauge,... It might work...

Hi Darin,

Well you might need a Trim sender/limit swtch kit from someone like Wholesale Marine and/or others... You can also probably buy the kit right here from iBoats!

Then just download Manual #11 for other details from the link at the top of this forum.

Cheers,

Rick

NICE! Thanks for the detailed reply... I'll look tonight, but I think my boat already has those installed on the gimbal... Either way, I'll look into getting these parts working. I had having to "listen and feel" where the trim is... especially when not at speed...

Ayuh,... I thought that's how all Good Watermen do it....

Well. Yeah. That's how you MUST do it. The trim sender and gage are not anywhere near accurate enough to do it by gage position........

I have to listen to mine, gauge hasn't worked in 6 months. If everything is in place, check to see if the wires are broken at the trim limit senders.

Well... sure... the same ones that have forgone the GPS and Radar and still use a Sextant to navigate...

Like I said before... when I'm NOT running up on plane, I'd like to know where the drive is trimmed... It's sometimes hard to hear the pump jamming it up against the stops when the stereo and kids are blaring.... ;)
