Adding a float switch to an Attwood V750 bilge pump

I currently have an Attwood V750 bilge pump wired to an on/off switch on my dash. I would like to add a float switch for peace of mind.

How should this be wired?

I understand it is best to wire the float switch directly to the battery, but can I keep the bilge pump on the on/off switch?

Or is it best to use and On/Off/auto switch?

Is this a direct battery (with an inline fuse of course) installation?

Any suggestions on a particular float switch for this bilge pump, does it matter?

You can have your on/off switch and a float switch. Just wire the float switch through a fuse to your battery an dtie it to the the same lead that the on/off switch connects to.

The type of float switch doesn't really matter.
I have used this one before.
