It is with sad feelings that my favorite hockey player of all time Adam Foote #52 is calling it quits. I have enjoyed watching this boy become a man and play with the likes or Joe Sakic, Patrick Roy, Ray Bourque and Rob Blake. My favorite memories will be of Adam playing his tough and physical style of defense most valued in a hockey game that has since past him by as a new style of hockey has come upon us and made the old school style of hockey history. I relish the days when Defensemen could play hockey, but some insisted that the hooking and grabbing, the interference were ruining the game, soon the some became many and the rules were changed in a way that we may not see old school hockey ever again.

I'm bummed, we may never see rivalries like the Av's/Wings anymore.........

Its time to add another Jersey to the living room wall, next to Sakic, Roy and Bourque

Thanks for letting me whine:D

Yeah I always like him too, he was a good solid player and that Avalanche team was something to be reckoned with.
I always thought tho' that his nose should have it's own number.:D
Imagine having to retire because you are 'over the hill' when you hit 40.:)
Best of luck to him.

Man I hated that guy! Which being that I'm a Wings fan means he was very good at his job. Played the game with a mean streak, but was not a cheap player. Hard to believe just how few players are left from the Wings/Avs rivalries hey day. Not nearly as big a fan since the rule changes, to much room for interpretation in the new NHL in my view. But I do suppose they marketing team in New York knows I'll watch regardless. Nonetheless, here's to the best in Mr. Footes post playing days.
