ACR Wiring Question

Hey fellas, I have a couple of ACR questions. I am installing an "Add a battery" kit, it seems pretty straight forward. My second battery is for the stereo, not much else. My boat came with the Perco "on -Off " switch, so the starter battery is already ran to that location, I don't see the reason for hooking up the house battery to the "on - off" switch, I plan on hooking the stereo amps directly to the battery and will never use the "both " setting on the switch, can I just run the wire to the acr and ommit hooking it in to the on off switch? Second, can I hook the wire that goes to the ignition switch to the solenoid end?

Re: ACR Wiring Question

Don,
As always you came through with the info needed. I don't understand the wire going to the neg on the house battery, but that is the way I will hook it up. Thanks again

Re: ACR Wiring Question

You need the negative to one of the batteries, doesn't matter which one, they are connected. The ground is needed to operate the ACR which is a relay, and the coil to operate the relay needs a ground.
