I have a Johnson 9.9 that I'm using as a kicker on my lund. For the last year I've had a lot of problems with this motor. The motor would not run correctly It would start but when I placed it in gear and gave it some gas it would die out. It's like starving for gas. So one thing lead to another and found out that the Accumix unit is not working correctly. I tried to clean the pump and tank out but no luck. What I've been told is that the Accumix unit will require more vacuum then the fuel pump can provide this is when they go bad. It will not mix the fuel / oil correctly and will not keep prime and takes more vacuum then the fuel pump can provide. The fuel pump is new and is the correct size for the Accumix unit.
The other issue is that my Jonhson 150hp shares the same fuel tank witch uses a VRO mixing unit. So I don't have room for a small 4 or 6 gal tank.
Does anyone have any parts or a unit that they are wiling to part with? Any help will be appreciated.
