Hello,
Recently bought a 1966 60hp Johnson with a 1963 Crestliner. I will be rebuilding the fuel pump and carb soon and would like to know before I start if there are certain proceedures to do first?? I would like to rebuild both and do it only once. Can anyone offer input to this post? I will be doing this project with my 15 year old son who has been very excited about working on this motor. It's been fun for both of us and next summer we want this motor to be as reliable as possible.
Thanks
Mike and son Zach

"So the older gentleman walked up to this beautiful older women in a bar and he says, so tell me, do I come here often."

Mike - Now is the time to teach your son a lot of neat things. He will remember and cherish the experience long after you are gone.

I do suggest that you get the OMC shop manual and go through it together with your son. It will teach him not only how to do this job right but teach him the value of using a manual in any kind of service or repair. I got my manual here:

http://www.theoutboardwizard.bizhosting.com/parts_service_and_owners_manuals.html

Thank you very much for the response and support. I looked over my manual over the weekend. Wish us luck.

This site is the greatest.

"What did the Buddist Monk say to the hot dog vender, make me one with everything"

Mike and son Zach
Still digging it!!!

For what it is worth - I have a son named Mike, a grandson named Zack and I went to high school in Albany. It is a small - - - - - .
