Pulled boat onto driveway and put boat on muffs for flush about 30 minutes after being out of the water. Immediately got hot water out of starboard exhaust, but port side was cool. Ran for about 7 minutes with port side never getting hot. Also noticed starboard side had much better flow than port side. Driveway does lean to the right a bit, so that may explain the flow variance but not the temp variance.
Replaced impeller and thermostat last year and replaced exhaust elbow gaskets about a month ago. Elbows had virtually no obstructions in them (which was surprising for a 16 year old boat).
I have no overheating issues that I am aware of, and my 5.0 Merc is a fresh water boat. The flow and temp variance issues just caused me to "scratch my head" a bit.

Any thoughts? I am still trying to better understand boat cooling systems. Thanks.

Don't see an issue
Water flows the path of least resistance, and water coming from the pump bypasses to the port side easier then the starboard, and the exiting hotter water makes it to the other. So long as the exhaust is not getting so hot that it may damage the boos, then no issue

Then wouldnt the port side have the higher flow? Then again, the driveway does slant some. I am going to check it again the next time that I launch. Thanks.
