If boat sits for two or more weeks , it has to run for an hour or so befor an intermitan beep ocurres.1984 merc 150 . If run a day or two later it only takes a few minuts . I have taken it to a mechanic with no luck . I changed the oil cap, some senser that cost about 200 bucks [not sure about the name]and another senser that plugs in by the oil cap plugs ,[it has one screw that holds it in , dont know the name of this one either ]. the motor runs great and uses about the oil it should . oil pump was checked and in good condition. What else is there ?The beep is fast .

Re: ? about oil signal

Fast as in several beeps per second? That would be a bad warning module (probably the $200 part) or a bad alarm. The alarm horn itself has a self-test feature. If it senses a problem with itself, it'll beep constantly or rapidly whenever the key is on.

The oil in the tank on the motor has to be completely full to the point of overflowing. If the oil level drops below the neck, it'll sound a low oil warning of beep beep beep (about a second on / a second off...)
