hey guys, wwhhaazzzzuuuuppppp! yes this mercruiser is putting me over the edge. here it is. i was in the middle of removing fuel and doing a couple of other things to the boat when i decided to plug up my timing light and see of i was in the ball park of the one timing mark at 12 o'clock . started engine, started strobin and she knocks out. now it quit because of the carb but when i tried to restart it theirs just a clicking sound from the slave relay and thats it nothin else. got 3 stong batteries so i know thats not it.tried jumping solenoid on starter and all i got was a spark and now the blower doesnt work. need some help. thanks tim

if jumping the starter done correctly only gives you a big spark either the starter is shot, the motor is jammed up by something, or something broke or the outdrive is jamming it. Can also pull the drive to isolate it from the problem

You ether blew a fuse or fried the blower shorting the starter when it sparked. I would start by pulling the starter and bench testing it..... But need the motor info to go any further, ur, size n so forth.

what i,m gonna do bt is strip the whole boat of everything and start from scratch. its like every time i,m almost there with it something else pops up. thanks for the reply. i,ll be in the restoration part of the forum for the next 2 years.
