There was nothing to it. There was no apparent problem. My 11 yr. old son an I have been out boating twice with no problems. I've done nothing other then give the boat a moderate push from the bow. Often times one makes a mountain out of a mole hill. Well, you live and learn, thanks again guys!

RC,

I read your other post. I am very dissapointed by some of the smarta** replies, especially the ones from "maggot" (if you know who I am refering to) Every now and then we have an influx of idiots on this board. Please do not take these posts too seriously and feel free to post whenever you encounter a problem. That is what this is for.

OK, so what will you do when the 7 year old turns 12 and decides it is more 'cool' to be with his buddies? Tell you what I did, get a rope about 3 feet longer than the distance from your truck bumper to the end of the trailer. Attach two hooks. When you back the boat down the ramp, unhook the safety chain and winch strap, attach the rope hook, and hook the other end either around your bumper or, I put a strong eye-hook on the truck's bumper. Now, you can back into the water, float the boat off, drive gently forward so the rope tightens, and bring the boat up on the ramp. Stop! Back slightly to get slack, unhook from bumper and attach to something sturdy near the ramp. Park, boat, enjoy. The same rope works well for putting the boat back onthe trailer. m
