I know This should go in another area but I am posting here cause it does involve fishn..Also cause I know we are all friends here and you won't tell those who hardly come to our side.. :D

There is a small gator lake near me that has a ten horse limit. I wanted to try out my new Aqua viewer and troll some at the same time.

Hooked my viewer up,put on one of legend series(29$) lure and put in holder..all went well for a while. Fishn Line Out about 100ft and I am looking in viewer.
When all of sudden I hear my line starting to to scream out, pole was bent pretty good. At this point I thought I had monster.. Threw her into neutral and looked over and pole was still bent over and not doing anything..Then I realized that my line was under my kicker..

The line was not broken so all I have to do is reach back, grab line and cut then pull in lure.
With kicker prop up it is pretty well back and as big as I am I could not reach.

Understand I am a fairly Large at 6'5" and well over 240Lbs...Add about 50 plus years and what you have is an old tater who is not as agile as before.. Stood up and leaned out, hand slipped off big motor and yep overboard I went..

This is a small lake and thank god no one saw me..
H..l I thought since I am down here might as well finish the job. Cut the lure and threw back into boat..

This all done no problem swim to side and pull up self up. Believe me water with clothes on sure does add some poundage..I am sure it was not a pretty sight had someone been watching
Finally started pulling my self up and looked over and what do I see on my viewer but part of a shoe ..Had pulled in some of the cord but not all..Hey I least found out it works..

Finally got into boat and saw no one..Just in case sat back down and acted like nothing. happened....I know Did I have a vest on..? and no I did not..I am a good swimmer and if the water had been rough i would have had one on.All I can say what a fisherman won't do to save a lure..This was my day and how was yours..

In the spirit of the olympic games, I'll give you a 9.750 for the dive, you would have gotten a 10.0 but there was excessive splash on entry :D

Re: A Wet Day

Happens to the best of us at times GF. I've stepped off the platform of my bass boat more than once reaching for lures that were in trees! It is worse when it is mid-April, cold as can be, and you are fishing with someone else and in their boat! But that is another story and we won't go there.

I cant believe you shared that with the world Gonfishn. I have a question for you though. When Muskyone was trying to kill us with his rocket ship in three foot swells I dont seem to recall either of us wearing PFDs. Just for your info when Neumanns lure got stuck on the kicker on your motor I almost went into the drink. My hand slipped on the big motor as well. Maybe you should put some traction material on that thing.

EL..Everytime I think of that ride with Muskyone I picture you airbourne about three feet off seat..
Barlow..If you come up next year and Muskyone wants to give you a ride,DON'T..Speeding trolling takes on a whole different meaning.

Many think here that we are drinkers..Nada..all of us are sobers and would hate to think if we did..
