A somewhat interesting discovery . . .

I have discovered that while most all of my posts return an error message, the post actually took. What I do now is once I hit the 'post' button, I quickly open the thread in another window. Most of the time I see my post actually there, even though the window that I posted from is still whirling and durning waiting for a result. So, what I thought was an error in posting, is actually an error in updating the window with the new post. My apologies if this has already been 'discovered'

Yep, I see the same thing. You can also just do a refresh once you get the error after you post and your post is there.

Yea, what I was not sure on is if the refresh was actually causing the post to go through, or if it was just bringing back the updated thread. So, now, I don't even wait for the error message, I just open the thread in another window. . . . Could save hours of waiting. :)

Well I just discovered that works tonite... although, it wasn't so a week ago (on my end anyway) and I did give up trying to post after half a dozen failed attempts, and i did NOT save my content... Seams I can post again... but i do so with the assumption it might all disappear again.. like every day I start my old beater car... "will it start this morning? stay running today? Will it yard sale and explode while driving down the highway this afternoon?

I hate to be a rabble rouser, but I have posted I think 3 times today (which is about 8 times my normal rate) and got NO error messages on any of them. Am I an outlyer?

I don't know how to do that? I'm not that computer literate

Mik, I will be more than happy to help get you up to speed, it seems over this upgrade you and I have had some friction and I really hope we don't in the future, so if you are having any difficulties, just let me know and I will help out.

I don't hold a grudge, Life's too short, I just speak my mind sometimes when something bugs me,,, but, I do respect others opinions, sometimes I just need time to for it all to sink in. I get the impression you're quite the computer whiz, and I appreciate your knowledge, and offer to help, but I'm not sure where I need help at this time, but I may take you up on that in the future. ;)

Thanks, Mike D.

If you are using a browser w/ tabs (are there any left that don't) you can 're-open' the Topic in a 2nd tab to confirm that your reply posted.

I am a bandwidth hog though, and regularly have multiple tabs open @iboat's forums..... Sorry to the IT dept if I slow the system

It seems to be random - some posts, no error, other posts, error but works anyway, and I think I've had error where post didn't "take", but most "error" messages are in error!

Edit - this post went error-free.
