Here is the deal, I need to order 4000 lbs, combined, of two different filter medias. I need to figure out how many 50 lb bags of each media I need to order to make up that total, in the proper ratio.
My current supplier has just raised it's price by 26%. I cannot pass this increase along to the customer nor can I absorb it. Whereas I have been buying the mixed media in 43 lb buckets, I may be able to get them cheaper, by the pallet, in 50 lb bags.
When I have been purchasing it in the 43 lb bucket the separate layered medias (I mix them up in an electric cement mixer for administration) each weigh the following: Media A weighs 35 lbs. Media B weighs 7 lbs.
How many bags of each media do I need to order to make up a 4000 lb load?
