Wellies: Wellington Boots (probably gumboots in the States)

Creels are lobster pots.

Trust me, you'd need a whole new dictionary in Scotland :D

I've never been to America, although I do have family there (I think their sentence is due to finish soon :D ).

Y'all must have boots, like cut down waders only sexier :D

Wellington boots are the type issued to navy recruits. Its part of the dugaree uniform if I'm not mistakin.

Most Scottish fishermen (the proper fishermen) can't swim either. They know it's a waste of time as the water is so cold.

Must admit if it was me though, I would be taking lessons! :)

That is a great story to convince people to wear one.

I remember a Coast Guard crewman told me that there is a reason it is call a "Life"preserve. He said to the best of his knowledge, Nobody has drowned while wearing a pfd. Only ones that do die are from exposure or injury, but not drowning.
