That is a beaut alright here is the story behind it Jeff I will land one of those bigguns before the summer is over
1111111111111

THE story behind this fish

Saturday we arrived at about 10am, got the boat in the water at 11 and fished a few spots but got blown off the big water because of huge waves that were too big to cast in.. so we sought cover in more sheltered area, where Rich (one of my fishing buddies) got 1 little pike 2lbs. At about 3:30pm we go back out to some big water spots again. The waves calmed a little but were still a bit rough and Dan (my other fishing buddy) and Rich both almost fell in while casting.. We fished the point of an island that is known to hold musky but we got nothing so I moved around to the calm side of the island to relieve the guys of the big waves.

I was casting a perch color depth raider. We got 3/4 down the side of the island and wham... my rod bent over like I just hooked into a log... I pulled and reeled but didn't see a fish or feel much of anything but a heavy weight, then a HUGE boil on the surface and I knew it was big but not sure how big yet,,, I though maybe a 45" fish. It took about a minute of tug of war with the fish, again it was like pulling in a log of the bottom of the lake.. when about 20 feet away from the boat I see her, HUGE, Holly **** she's huge a said to the guys because they haven't seen her yet.. then 10 feet from the boat and the guys are freaking out when they see her come to the surface and how big she is, then the fight starts.. she starts pulling drag, a few good runs and then I drag her past the net a
couple of times before Rich nets this beauty...57" long, 28" girth and 52.6lbs on Dan's digital scale... My heart was pounding and my knee's where shaking..
