Hello, I recently bought a new boat and the motor is much different than my last one... I have some noob questions that are probably going to sound really dumb to some of you experienced guys. I've searched the forums with no specific answer to my questions.
I have a 1978 Johnson V4 seahorse...
First question: My last boat I just had to put gas in and change the foot oil. This one I put oil into the gas, so do I need to change any kind of oil anywhere else on the motor? Is there any other maintenance I should know about for this motor?
Second question: I have no idea where the tilt/trim is located. The motor must be lowered and raised in and out of the water manually. I know it has a 3wire switch for the trim, but I don't even know if it's installed. Is there a link to show where the tilt/trim assembly is located and how to remove it from this specific motor?
The motor runs great but it would be nice not to have to put it down manually every time. Sorry for the rookie questions. I guess you have to learn sometime. Thank you!
