...out of the blue, one of our PM's just stopped by my office and said he had a 1972 or 1973 Johnson that has been sitting in the corner of his garage for years. He said it was missing on one cylinder when they last used it but ran okay otherwise and has never been apart.

I asked him what his price range was and he said he was planning to give it to me. It is 10hp over my Lowe 1456 rating but I can't say no!

Anybody have a picture of this vintage motor?

Would this vintage Johnson have points or an electronic ignition?

And one item I didn't mention, months ago we talked about adding controls to my Evinrude 6hp or the Wizard...this motor has the controls and electric start too.

I am sure the 25hp is too much hp for my Lowe but I may be able to trade it for a 15hp down the road.

it is a magneto, simple ignition system, points, condenser, coils.
