I went to the river yesterday and saw a couple idiots putting their boats in. The first was a guy that had a brand new sea-doo boat it was a large one not the old speedster type, but anyway, he had his boat backed up to the waters edge and then decided he needed to have a 10 minute phone conversation so he sat there and blocked the ramp for 10 minutes while he talked on the phone. Then he backed the boat in and leaving his truck and trailer at the ramp, he got in the boat and started to put his Bimini top up and moving stuff around in the boat. Finally he beached it and got in his truck and moved it. He blocked the ramp for a good 20 minutes meanwhile 5 people put their boats in in the other lane.
A couple minutes later I saw a guy at the ramp across the way putting his waver runner in. I believe it was a 3 or 4 lane ramp and there was a car in the middle lane with the boat at the waters edge getting ready. This guy pulls forward down the ramp and circles behind the boat that is at the waters edge. The one side of his SUV had to be submerged up to the door sills. He straighted it up and backed it in as fast as he could backing in until his front tires were a good 3 feet from dry land. He did all of this with 2 kids sitting on the wave runner.

It never ceases to amaze me how inconsiderate people are. Would it have hurt him to put the bimini up after he put his truck away or take that phone call after he was on the water....

ramp stories r endless LOL we were in the water behind a woman on a brandnew jetski she had just got it that day. my soninlaw went for the truck.. her husband or boyfriend was backing down the ramp she powered over to the trailer and put the ski on the trailer like a pro.. i was impressed to say the least.. with her still on the ski her friend puts the car in drive and proseeds to pull up the ramp (this i heard i didnt see it) i heard her scream STOP!! i looked up in time to see the ski slide off the trailer with her still on it ..yep CRASH right on the ramp. my soninlaw and her what i thought soon.. to be Xhubby get to her at the same time. shes fine... him and her are cussin shes in tears.. what a mess! by this time there maybe 10 ppl on the ramp looking to see what happened.. i yelled to my soninlaw to get the bleepety bleep thing on the trailer.. wasnt anything they were going to fix by staring at it! soo they get it on the trailer and away they go. i get my boat loaded up and were off to the side getting things ready for the ride home as hes telling me the "rest of the story". seems the ski was brand new that day but they wernt new to skies at all.. been doing it for yrs! so when it came time to load the new ski they did it the same way they always did it. but appairenty there was something different about this trailer or ski or both! anyway i went from thinkin HOW FRIGGIN STUPID to feelin sorry for them.. he also told me that they said they didnt see anything major just some deep scratches so i hope its fine..anyway lesson here is ..what you see maybe a great boater on a merphy day at its worst

Kind of like my Sunday. Public launch on Lake Delavan has 4 lanes. 2 for launching and 2 for loading. They are long enough docks for mooring 2 deep. When we were ready to pack it in for the day we were 4th in line waiting for a slot to open. Things were moving really slow. FINALLY a slot opened for us and we noticed that in the spot closest to the ramp was a PWC. No tow vehicle on the ramp, no people to be seen for 10 minutes. Then a guy with his lottle kid came down the ramp. He made a 5 minute phone call as they stood there. Then they got on the PWC and went on their merry way. There is, by the way, also a courtesy dock which was empty. Some people are just so self-absorbed. I REALLY needed a restroom after almost 4 hours on rough water. I waited until the boat was on the trailer and far from the ramp. Courtesy isn't dead, but it's on a respirator.
