I didn't know Santa Claus was a fisherman! That is a nice muskie though- although the conditions sure don't look appealing! I spent yesterday out fishing as well in the cold and wind. 3 small bass to show for it. It was still fun though.

UFM82

Nice fish...I was fishing in near perfect conditions yesterday. It was in the 50s, water was flat, and the sky was clear.

Nice Fish! I guess someone asked for a wall hanger for Christmas.

Although I enjoy fishing anytime I can, I know of some musky guys that won't wet their line until after the first frost.

I also read in Musky Hunter magazine of a significant Musky die off on the St. Lawrence this year. From my understanding this was due to a high concentration of bacteria as per the warmer water temps. Has anyone heard if this has had a significant impact on the current fishing?

I believe the name of the lure was Invader,... A large Muskie plug, in Perch colors......

Thanks,....

Ayuh,.... Honk Does do a Great Santa when the time comes,....

That was about the Calmest it got All Day,......Temps in the Low 40s......
Capt. Clay had been commenting about all the Snow Drifts out on the river..........

Brothers,.??......... Nah,..... Well,.. Brothers of the Soul I suppose,..............

The boat,.. "No Problem" is a 1953 Chris Craft,.. Didn't catch the model moniker,.. It's a 28' hardtop with a cuddy just about big enough for the Girls to back into,.. They had to raise the hatch to stand,+ Pull'em Up............. :D
Nice Long cockpit,.. Chrylser powered,..100% Mahogany,....
Clay bought it in 1968 for $1100.00,+ has been an everyday fishing guide ever since,..... He also repairs/ replaces the required wood each year,...... Quite a Carpender........Or is that Cabinetmaker,.??...

Nope,.... No Pics of the boat,.... Yet,....

No Wallhangers in This Crowd,............ That fish is Still swimming in 40 Acre Shoals........
We've found that you can Cover your walls with wallhanger fish, for the price of 1 Mount,.. at the right Auction...............

That fish was Clay's 1st Muskie of the year,....He's booked solid till the end of November........

What you read was True,.... There was a Higher than normal Die-off,...... But,... Clay is confident that there are Still Plenty of fish to catch,.........

"I also read in Musky Hunter magazine of a significant Musky die off on the St. Lawrence this year. BTW that 3 million gallons turned out to be 7-8 million gallons.

You May be Right Steve,....

But,... I think the Problem stated Before the Millions of Gallons of Cow$h!t even got to Black River Bay,........
Much less by the time it made it up to the St Lawrence River........

That lagoon down at the Mark's Farm has been an Issue that Nobody Cared about for Atleast 30 Years,..........
Back in the late 70s,... I was dumping Whey into that Same lagoon...... Matter of Fact,...... I once erroded the side of it out with a Slipped Pipe on the Tanker I was dumping........
The Whole Thing was built with the local Round Rock Gravel,....... No Clay Liner,.... Nothing but Gravel............
