Sparky Anderson died today at the age of 76.
The only manager to win a World Series in both leagues.

I'm not much of a baseball fan anymore but I always did think highly of Sparky. RIP

I had heard he was entering hospice care because of his dimentia. Very sad.

I grew up listening to Ernie Harwell calling the games and Sparky running the show for the Tigers. My grandparents made sure all us kids developed an appreciation for our favorite pastime, kept the AM radio on with the tv after supper.

Can't ask for much more than that as a young fan of the game.

RIP Sparky.
