A lot of people can barely afford to buy a boat and then can't afford to fix them--or especially in this economy, can no longer afford them. So when it sank once, he couldn't afford to rebuild/replace the motor, etc. So the second two times it sank, it' snot like he was losing an engine.
that's not an excuse, just an explanation. I see a lot of boats that are on the margin, and once they sink, that's the end of them, even though they could be fixed up.
Looks like he moors with his stern to the weather. That explains it. When I was growing up, our boat swamped at the mooring. We thought we corrected it, but it went down again. So my dad and I came up with another process that has worked for 25 years or more. So I have to say, once can happen to anyone. Twice can happen, too. Three times? Hmmmm
