Hello all. I'm trying to replace a broken manual tilt assist system with a power trim tilt assembly. A big problem right now is I can't get the cylinder pin out from the stern bracket. I've tilted the engine up high, and just have access to the port end, where I could push the pin (won't move) . I'm not sur how to pull on the starboard end. My manual says to use a slide hammer and an OMC adapter. I don't have either of these. Do I really need to get them? (The parts directory seems to call the cylinder pin a tilt tube. Or am I looking at it wrong?}

Is the one end of the pin drilled and threaded?----That would be how you pull it out with a slide hammer.

Yes, so I'll have to buy that slide hammer and adapter. Anyone know the thread size of the drilled pin? And yes, I was reading the parts directory wrongly, I can see the cylinder pin marked now that I've had another look.
