99 s/r 180 outboard floor "locker" ??

I looked at a 1999 used sea ray 180 outboard. the floor locker- where you put the skiis --had two covers that were on hinges and swung up. both of them bent a little when you walked on them (I weigh 200 pound). the aft one bent more than the front one.
Were they like this new? Covers looked like 100% fiberglass but maybe not, maybe had wood in it that rotted.

does anyone know?
